Yangon Delight Celebrates 1 Year
To mark one year since opening, Yangon Delight hosted a sold-out anniversary event — bringing together customers, friends, and supporters for a night of food, music, and meaning.

Yangon Delight Opens in Amsterdam Oost
The idea for Yangon Delight didn’t come from a long-held dream — it came from a moment. One evening, while out with a friend at a nearby bar, Thandar noticed a "For Rent" sign next door — one she had seen many times before. She remembered a trip to San Francisco with her mother, where people were queuing outside a Burmese restaurant. That image stuck with her. In that moment, it clicked: there was no Burmese restaurant in the Netherlands.
Without prior kitchen or hospitality experience, she decided to give it a try — not out of fantasy, but from instinct and boldness.
In May 2024, Yangon Delight opened as the first and only Burmese restaurant in the country.
